The Meatball Party and Papa Grape's 85th Bday

December isn't complete without the annual "Meatball Party". We also celebrated Grandpa's 85th birthday. Dylan calls him "Papa Grape" (for Gpa Great). He was really into helping him blow out his candles and trying to get his hands into that frosting. Yum!


These tongs and garnish kept Dylan busy for quite awhile. Hey...whatever keeps him out of trouble and doesn't make a mess right!? :)

We always do a white elephant exchange. Jeff brought a live lobster for his. He was a pricey guy, but it was worth the laughs! We came home with that lovely manikin head that Jeff is holding and a elephant stuffed animal. We will add that stuffed animal to the collection that we have that Dylan refuses to touch. He hates stuffed animals! Hopefully Lucy girl likes them.


Great crowd, food, games, and laughs. Then unfortunately within 2 days of the party at least 10 people had the stomach flu....which then spread like wildfire through our family. That was not at all fun!

Annual Thanksgiving Point Trolley

I didn't do a great job of taking pictures at this event, but it was a good time as usual. Dylan was really into it this year. It was so fun to watch him. He just wanted to sit next to Grandpa and look out the one window. We tried to get him to look to the other side of the trolley, but he was happy right where he was! He thought the reindeer were pretty awesome as well, but he wouldn't really stand still long enough for a good picture with them (shocker!)

He didn't smile for any of the pictures, but don't let this fool you...He loved the lights!

Snoozing with Santa

Tree Decorating

I love putting up Christmas! Dylan had a good time checking out all of the ornaments, and did fairly well leaving the tree alone most of the month. He did golf a few glass balls that I'm still finding little pieces of in the carpet. Little stinker.

1st time Bowling

Dylan had been talking about bowling for awhile. He loves the Curious George episode about bowling and had been talking a lot about "gutter balls". So The beginning of December we headed to Jack and Jills and this little man was in heaven! Getting all ready. After about 2 frames I pulled a muscle in my belly...I realized that bowling while pregnant was probably not the greatest idea. Amy's little guy Sawyer only lasted a few frames as well, so Dylan got to bowl 3 frames in a row each time. He loved every second of it.



Drying his hands...he is taking this bowling experience seriously ;) I couldn't get enough of how stinkin cute he was in these shoes.
He did a crazy dance after each time he knocked over pins, but of course I can't get the video to load. Love him!

Belly Shot

This was me about a week ago at 23 weeks. Enormous...I know! It is hard to believe that my belly was smaller than this when I delivered Dylan. I'm actually getting to wear maternity clothes this time!

Baby Lucy

I had another ultrasound of this cute girl this morning. I love seeing her moving all over the place and recounting all 4 chambers of her heart :) She is such an active little thing. It had only been 2 1/2 weeks since my last visit with the Perinatologist, but at my OB appointment a few days ago they panicked because my belly is measuring 6 weeks bigger than it should. The OB was in an emergency surgery, so it was 2 RNs and a Nurse Practitioner checking me out. They started throwing things out like Gestational Diabetes, Polyhydraminos..etc. Basically I think they panicked because of my history. I first got a lecture when I got on the scale because I have yet to gain a pound this pregnancy (I did the same thing with Dylan), then they measure me and I am apparently enormous! LOL.

Regardless, Lucy looked perfect. There is definitely only one baby in there and she is still a she...which is good because there is a lot of pink, bows, and ruffles going on at the Davis household. She is measuring just a few days ahead of schedule, my fluid is right on, and she still looks just as she should. I love being able to see all of her parts. It is so reassuring to see her heartbeat. I love love love her.

This pregnancy has had some differences than Dylan's (which we'll take as a good sign). I was barely starting to feel him at this point. Lucy is a mover and I've been feeling her for weeks. She is super active. She is pretty wild at night. Come 11:00 I love to watch my belly. You can see my stomach move when she kicks. I love it. I'm so excited for Jeff to be able to really feel her move when she gets bigger. He never got to feel Dylan because he was so small.

So Dr. Feltovich concluded that the reason I am measuring big is because I am 5 foot nothing with a small torso. Everything looks just as it should. Then she laughed and said Now get out of my office...I don't have time for healthy people in here today! LOL. I love her. She is seriously an amazing Dr.

14 DAYS

It all started with Dylan's obsession with his Daddy's Jazz t shirt. He really is in love with the NBA logo which is absolutely hilarious.


So because I couldn't let him wear his Dad's shirts every day Jeff went looking for the perfect shirt for his little guy. We knew 2 things... It must have a basketball on it and the NBA logo. So 2 weeks ago today Jeff brought this Jazz jersey home. Dylan was beyond ecstatic about it. He couldn't even go to sleep that night. He kept calling for me to come in. He'd sit up, smooth out his shirt and say "Mama, yook at my basketball shirt" just as soon as I'd get back in bed he'd yell for Daddy and do the same thing. He is such a crack up.



So we are going on the 14th day of wearing this jersey. Dylan has a pretty obsessive personality, he gets attached to things and does not forget about them. This has been crazy though...he does not take it off. It comes off for bath time each night, but still has to be where he can see it. He wears it over his jammies to bed at night. If it has to be washed I take it off of him after he goes to bed at night otherwise it is a total melt down freak out! He will not wear a coat because he won't cover up his jersey. I finally found a yellow jacket from Old Navy that he will put on because it matches his shirt, but he won't zip it up. This child really is so funny, but I'm getting tired of looking at his jersey. 14 days is a long time for a mom that normally dresses her son in polos and button up shirts.
He is very proud of his shirt and loves to look at himself in the mirror. For the first several days he pretty much planted himself in front of a mirror. It was love at first sight for this little guy! After the first week I figured I better send a note with him to school to explain that I really did try to put a coat on my child and there was a reason that it was in his backpack and not on him! Oh the joys of parenthood!

Halloween 2011

We had a fun Halloween. Dylan was a pirate...a pretty cute one I might add. We went to a party at Jeff's work which turned out really fun and Dylan got a load of candy that I am now eating! We also did a little bit of trick or treating around the ward. Dylan liked it for the most part(as long as there wasn't scary stuff at the door) and was pretty cute saying trick or treat. He did however try to go inside a lot of houses. As soon as they answered he assumed he could walk right in. LOL.

We carved our pumpkins from the patch. I actually did 2 this year...both of the kids names. We decided on Lucy for baby girl! Jeff did Jack the Pumpkin King and I love it. It turned out so good.

The Patch

We took Dylan to a pumpkin patch this year and he had a great time running around. I would say his favorite part was meeting the farm cat that was walking around. He loved it. No worries...I sanitized his hands multiple times afterwards, I'm sure it was carrying something nasty. Oh well. He loves animals. One day we'll have to break down and get him one, but not until he BEGS.







He was pretty mad about having to share the wheelbarrow with the pumpkins.


We stopped at a small haunted house afterwards that a local family in Riverton does in their barn. It is safe to say that Dylan hated it. He yelled "No No" "Stop screaming" and "I scared" all the way through. I don't think that we will be doing that again for a long time.

The Toy Ad

This Toys R Us ad for Christmas came in the mail last week and Dylan found it on the couch. He loves to look at it. I find him laying on the ground flipping through pages multiple times a day. It is so funny to hear him talk about the toys and games. I'm sure next year he will be circling what he wants Santa to bring!


And yes...that is a swim diaper he is wearing. LOL! He has this love for swimming so he is always wanting to take off his clothes and put on his swim diaper. I usually oblige ;)

Fishing

A little fishing at Highland Glen Park. Dylan loves to go there to fish and feed the ducks. Usually he is super loud and not many fish are caught, but oh well...It makes for an easy family night :)

Say cheese

I love this face! He is loving motorcycles right now. As you can see he still loves to climb on everything. Now that it hurts my back to pick him up all of the time he is constantly dragging chairs around the house to reach stuff. You can't hide anything from this child! He is always on top of counters, tables, desks etc...I can't believe that he is almost 4 and we haven't had any broken bones yet- I hope our luck continues!

The Snorkel

Dylan has found a new love for this snorkel gear that he found rummaging through a closet. He's been wearing it for 24 hrs straight and gets mad when it pulls his hair or falls off. We have now hidden it in hopes that he will forget about it! So far he has only asked for it about every 3-5 minutes. LOL! This boy is a constant crack up.


He stood in front of the mirror forever making faces. So funny!

Drum Roll- It's a.......

GIRL!!!!!

Most of you have heard this already, but I'm a little slow on the blogging. We had another ultrasound Oct. 7th with the Perinatalogist. The tech doing the ultrasound saw the gender first thing, but wanted to make a few measurements and then come back and see if we could guess! Baby sister was blocking the view with her foot for awhile, but finally gave us a show. We are so excited we can hardly stand it. Dylan had been insisting that it was a sister all along and he was right! Both Jeff and I have thought this one was a girl from the beginning too, but lets be honest we would have been equally excited either way. We honestly would have been surprised if it would have been a boy. So far little princess is looking great. We will have another ultrasound Nov. 4th to look at her in depth, but she is measuring great and about a week ahead of schedule. Go baby girl!

She was not cooperating for a profile picture, this one was the best they got. It was right before she popped her little thumb into her mouth. I mean how cute is she!? We are so in love! The shopping has begun and it is amazing how cute everything is...not to mention expensive. But I mean really- it all has ruffles, bows, pink, accessories and oh the headbands!!!! So So FUN! Keep cooking little missy! We love you Princess!
