Weekend Trips

(This is a pic of Dylan in action chasing a turkey at Bear World. He is hilarious!)

Jeff went on a 4 day fishing trip this last weekend. We missed our Dad, but he had a blast hiking and fishing all day long. I am so glad he has people to go with so I don't have to!!! Ha ha...maybe when Dylan is a bit bigger and easier. So, while Dad was away Dylan and I hopped in the car with G-ma and G-pa Cutler and headed to Idaho for The Cutler family reunion. We had a great time even though Dylan threw up half the time(nothing new there). He did pretty good on the long drive there. We only had to hear "get out" and "Mom I stuck" for the last 2 hrs! It was nice to have extra people to chase after him and keep him entertained. Luckily he puts up with Addy hauling him around everywhere. She sure loves him. We did brave going to a restaurant one night...MISTAKE. I don't know why I put myself through it.

A. its food...need I say more
B. sitting still in a high chair.

I ended up getting my food to go and D and I headed back to the hotel. We spent mostly a sleepless night. Dylan's tummy was out of whack so he threw up quite a bit. That made the reunion a little easier on all of us because he spent most of the time sleeping. Unusual for this little guy. It was a huge park with playgrounds and a splash pad. It could have been quite exhausting for all of us chasing him!

Next up was Bear World and it did not disappoint! Dylan was so fun! He perked right up when
A. He could ride in the car out of his car seat
B. Animals! He is an animal lover.

Cousin Colby and Dylan. They are both sitting in his car seat watching for bears.

Dylan ran from animal to animal. He loved the petting area. He looked at fish with Grandpa and chased every turkey and chicken he could see!

Check out this sequence of events. Instead of stopping him, I just decided to capture it. He is too funny. I however did not capture the getting down and stepping on one of the poor goats. I was too busy trying to save the goat from my crazy son.

He was a gem on the drive home. Such a good boy! He didn't even say "I stuck" a single time!

Stay tuned for the AMAZING video from Bear World. It won't load for some reason.

Walnut

We have a walnut tree in our backyard. It is an amazing tree until fall. Then I despise it. It is huge and there are a gazillion walnuts, not to mention truck loads of leaves to clean up.

But....Dylan found a walnut a few weeks ago when he was playing outside. It now goes EVERYWHERE with him. It even goes in the tub and to bed. He took it to feeding therapy with him the other day and we had to hide it once we got there. It is his "my ball my ball my ball" This kiddo doesn't have a stuffed animal that goes to bed with him, he has his walnut and anywhere from 2-5 balls that he has to have. His little personality cracks me up. He always knows which balls he wants and we have to get them before he settles in for movies, naps, and bedtime. Sometimes we have to look in every room in the house for that certain one. Luckily when he loses his walnut I just run to the backyard and get another. It now seems I have several walnuts in each room of the house.

Monkey see-Monkey do

I turned the hose on low for Dylan the other day. First he watered the garden, next my flower pot, and last he filled up his pool. I love him!

Fishing Trip

Jeff went on a 4 day fishing trip down to the Boulder Mountains. He had a great time and caught tons of fish. Here are a few pics for you fish lovers out there.

Fish on baby! I love this picture. Look at his face. That is pure happiness folks.

They had a great time. He came home sore, sun burned, had a million mosquito bites, but loved every second!

Splish Splash

Dylan and I have been trying to spend as much time outside as possible. The Splash park never disappoints. Dylan was quite nervous the first half hour...but he warmed up and had a blast. I could never get him to stop and look at me for a picture (although that is nothing new around here. Getting this child to hold still for anything is just about impossible!)He is so fun and pretty naughty!

I took Dylan over to farm country last week and let him run wild. He was so funny. He loved the chickens. He would stick his fingers through the fence until they pecked his fingers and then he'd hysterically laugh about it. Ouch! He loved the ducks and probably would have hopped in the pond with them if he could.

The Stare down.

How I love this little man!

Future Engineer

I might have the smartest 2 yr old around!! He is quite the critical thinker lately and he makes life interesting. Dylan is a CLIMBER. It is amazing how quickly he can move a chair or stool to where he wants to climb. It is common for me to find him on top of every high surface in the house ALL DAY LONG.

So the story to the picture below was pretty funny. He likes to hang out by me while I'm getting ready for the day. He loves to get up to this vanity because it is filled with lots of fun stuff to get in to including toiletries, makeup, combs etc. Well, he couldn't pull out the chair because it kept getting stuck on the carpet. He would pull on it, it would tip..he then would try to climb on it and the chair would fall back down on all 4 legs. He disappears for a few minutes and returns with his tractor. I look out a minute later to find him on the chair with said tractor wedged under the leg to hold the chair in place. SMARTY PANTS!

I love having a boy. This is Dylan's window that he spends a lot of time at every day. He lines cars up on it all day. It makes me smile.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND

We had a fun and busy weekend full of yard work, friends, family, and fishing. I didn't take enough pictures.

Dylan couldn't even hold his head up with this helmet on. It was too heavy for our little guy. It was pretty funny. Needless to say, he hated it!
