This little one loves the water. It doesn't matter where or when...He sees water and he needs to be in it. He loves trips to the lake. Dad does some fishing, Dylan plays in the water, and Mom gets some sun. Dylan also gets to have his little grabby hands on a few unfortunate fish!

However...I do have to admit that the first few times he got into the lake I did cringe several times.
1. He gets a bit dirty
2. He licks his chops and I'm sure is getting all sorts of NASTY water in his mouth
3. I'm cleaning sand out of hair, ears, crevices etc for days
4. It's Dirty (Need I say more)

How can I possibly resist this little guy? He loves to get dirty. So yes, I have finally relaxed in the messy department. Don't judge me if my child is filthy! Kids get dirty.

What can be better than snugging up with G-Pa and G-ma?

So on the subject of water and dirty children-
This is Dylan playing in a rain storm we had a few weeks ago. He loved it!

Guess who is 18 months!

Dylan is 18 months! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. My baby is old enough to go to nursery. Seriously? He is so much fun and we love watching him learn new things.

Dylan's stats at 18 months

Weight 15 lbs 10 oz
Length 27.5 inches
Head 17.5 inches

I would love to say what percentages those stats are...but we are still far from being on the growth chart!

Dylan likes to say...Mom, Daddy, Itty (kitty), Ruff, Uh-oh, Fish, Go Go, and So. "So" is his new favorite word. Besides these words he is constantly jabbering and loves to be in on the conversation.

Clothes: 6-9 months
Shoes: size 1
Diapers: size 3

Some of Dylan's Favorite things at 18 months
~ books. Most times he will choose books over toys
~ His 2 blankies (his frog one and his fish one)
~ Climbing everything! Especially the furniture and the fire place.
~ the remote
~ Pushing any button he can gets his little fingers on.
~ looking in mirrors and giving himself kisses
~ swimming, pretty much anytime he can play in the water
~ the tub. He loves to stand up to the faucet and play in the running water
~ Snuggle. He is a snuggle bug.
~ Laying in the love sac with Dad. He always climbs up to Jeff and settles himself right into the crook of his arm. (Melts my heart)
~ Kisses. You never know if you are going to get the pucker kiss or the big slobbery tongue kiss. I of course love them all! PS he likes to give them to Mommy most!
~ Outside
~ Watching out the window
~ Playing in the dirt
~ The spare room bed. This is the only place that he will nap. Don't even think about the crib. It will be a melt down.
~ Rocking with Mommy in the gold rocker
~ His favorite shows are Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Imagination Movers, Phinneus and Ferb, and Baby Einsteins.
~ his Grandma's and Grandpa's
~ Going to the store
~ making new friends and flirting with girls (He has this shy head tilt thing going on)
~ animals

So this would be Dylan's most recent obsession. He does not go anywhere without his phone. He was constantly trying to get our phones. As a result, he called many people and set a few calendar reminders that we were unaware of... so we gave him an old flip phone of Jeff's. Well it is now a new appendage. He pushes it around like a car when he's playing and is constantly holding it to his ear and jabbering. He naps with it, goes to bed with it...You name it and the phone is in his hand. It is quite comical.

This is him in the spare bed napping away with phone in hand.

We love this little munchkin so much!

Bear World/Idaho Trip

We took a little family trip to Idaho this past weekend. It is always interesting trying to get everything packed for Dylan. He gets to have 4 bags and we each get one! We had a great time. Grandma Davis came with us. Our cousin had a wedding open house and it was fun to see some family. We started off our trip of course stopping in Malad for a lottery ticket(tradition)! Then on to Bear World. It is such an awesome place. It is owned by Yellowstone. There are elk, buffalo, mountain goats, wolves, grizzlies, black bears, moose, and lots of little critters. So you just drive your car through their habitat. The grizzlies are fenced off, but the rest is free range. Bears will walk right up to your car. It is pretty amazing to be that close to them.

This albino elk was so pretty.

After you drive through they have a petting area. Dylan of course was going nuts because he loves animals. He loved crawling all over in the dirt, rocks and yes...lots of animal poop I'm sure.

He loved feeling the ears on the deer. He went for the ears every time we got close to the deer.

The big old pig was another story. Dylan crawls right up to him and pats him. Then he stands up and kicks him a few times. Mr. Pig then wakes up and snorts at him a few times. So here is me holding him back for a pic.

We also took a drive up to the Warm River where you can feed the huge trout and then down to Cave Falls. It is so pretty. There had been a rock fall since last time we were there so you couldn't get back to the cave. Jeff can never resist a swim in the freezing water.

A big thanks to Grandma for keeping Dylan entertained in the back seat (even if there were a few milk explosions/feeding tube mishaps!) It was a great trip!
