The 1st half of May

Time is flying by! We have been keeping busy with yard work and playing outside any chance we get. We decided to take on the huge project of taking down our huge Walnut tree. It has been a giant pain in the behind the last several years. It drops thousands and thousands of walnuts. It was a beautiful tree, but way TOO much maintenance. We will miss the shade in the hot summer months, but that is about it. So it has taken several weeks to get everything down, hauled away, and cut up.

Dylan was a helper too. As long as he has a little bit of water to play with he is a happy camper. Washing the BBQ.

We've taken drives up the canyon, done some fishing, and thrown a lot of rocks in the lake.

Dylan loves to go swimming. We try to go a few times a week, but he asks several times a day. He is always trying to put on his diaper cover and loves to carry around his "tigger-poohs". (Those are his swim diapers) They come with Nemo on some and Tigger and Pooh on some. He won't wear the Nemo ones...just the "tigger-poohs". He also sleeps with one each night. This child is a crack up!

We celebrated Mother's Day. I love being a Mom!

Dylan loves to play in the sink.

Fresh out of the tub screaming to go back outside!

Tantrum

We went through a really rough 6 week patch with Dylan being well... HORRIBLE with a capital H. When I say tantrums I mean the screaming for hours, hitting himself, pulling hair, scratching his face and did I mention the blood curdling scream that went on pretty much all.day.long. It was awful to say the least. Oh and mix in the 2 weeks of RSV in the middle... We weren't sure we were all going to survive, but we did. Barely. The poor little man really does have it rough with all of his gastrointestinal issues. The doctors are trying different medications which probably was the main cause of this horrible 6 weeks. I am happy to say that he is back to his cute happy wild yummy self. He has been so funny the last few weeks and I think that we are enjoying him even more after that rough patch. We love you Bubba!

The March AZ trip- WARNING-long long post!

Well...We always seem to take a trip the end of March since it is our anniversary and my birthday. It was our 5th anniversary and my 28th birthday. My Golden birthday as a matter of fact. So we decided to go to Arizona to see Mich, Nate, and the boys. We saw the Grand Canyon, went to a Dodger game, went to the lake, went on some hikes around Lake Powell, played at the park, loved on the new baby, and listened to a lot of TANTRUMS. We did a lot of fun/cool things, but Dylan's screaming made some of them difficult to enjoy!

First up was the Grand Canyon. Dylan was really mad when we got there and naturally had a blast and was mad when we made him get back in the car. It was so pretty. Here are a few shots that we took, it is pretty much impossible most of the time to get Dylan to look at the camera.

I love this pic. what you don't see is my hand out and ready to catch him at any moment! On this short expedition he managed to fall several times, get a black eye, bloody his knees even through his pants, and cut his hand. I guess we are lucky that he didn't climb the fence and dive into the canyon. Crazy man!

It was really windy and cold!

My hottie hubs.

After the initial lookout area we just pulled over to areas that we could hop out of the car for a quick pic and not get Dylan out. I have serious mom anxiety at places like this. He is too wild and has zero fear. Scary combo.

Dylan loved the hotels and the queen size bed all to himself.

Dylan and Kade had a blast playing together! They were so good as long as they could be outside all day long playing. There was a lot of dirt, sunscreen, and baths taking place.

Shocker! Dylan isn't looking and Mr. Kade thought that he was smiling. LOL! That face is a crackup.

Can you say panic attack! I was having one as I was taking this picture. He thinks that he is way bigger than he is. Like I said...no fear. Stick with the stairs Dyl. This is the first time ever that I have let him have free rein on the playground. Usually I follow right behind him for these reasons. We still are not sure how we've made it 3 years without a broken bone.

Love these 2 boys. Kade loved to follow Dylan. So cute. Dylan was around the block before I caught up with him. This is why we stay in fenced in areas!

We can't forget about this little one. Zane is so cute and I loved getting my snuggle on with him. Dylan loved the baby. Every time he cried Dylan was running to him to see what was going on. He'd say "its ok baby. Ah soft baby."

Jeff and Nate spent a few days at the lake, but Mich and I took the kids one afternoon. The boys had a blast throwing rocks in the lake. Zane was a good boy until it came time for the car ride home. All 3 boys were screaming. Zane was hungry, Kade was tired, and Dylan was screaming "stop it" to the baby because his crying was stressing him out. Michelle was about in tears and I was laughing so hard! A car full of emotion! I think the reason I was laughing was that only one of the screamers was mine. Haha. 3 babies under 3 is a lot of work.

Mich gathering up all the toys that were floating away.

Dylan really loved baby Zane. Here he is giving him kisses. Such sweet boys.

Dodger Spring Training~ well this was the thing that we were pretty dang excited for. I think that Jeff enjoyed the game, but they were hellish hours for me. Dylan was so so naughty. He wouldn't stay by us, he was going into roped off areas, I chased him around the stadium multiple times and then the screaming started. It was nap time, it was hot, and it was lots of room to run...bad combo for mom. He finally passed out after about 2 hrs. You know it was bad when multiple people say "oh so he finally gave up huh?" when you are walking back to your spot with a sleeping child. I seriously stood behind a empty beer stand(I needed shade people!) and held him tight until he gave up and fell asleep. LOL. I can laugh now that it has been a month. It will be a long time before we take him to another baseball game!

This was after the game and a much needed nap.

We finished up the trip by staying the night in Page, AZ and did a few hikes around Lake Powell. Horse Shoe Bend was gorgeous. Dylan wanted nothing to do with the hike. Why? Well because he is 3 and this place was a giant sandbox!

Tired, sun burned, scraped, bruised, and exhausted! The end.

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year! We were spoiled by our parents and Dylan is loving all of his new toys. I really wasn't very good about taking pictures. We did manage to get a few of Dylan after church in his new outfit, but he was really busy filling the tulips with dirt. This little one is all boy and is in heaven when he has dirt, rocks, and a shovel.

Checking out his basket!

His attention span for finding eggs lasted about 2 minutes. I think that he ate his weight in candy which is fine by us. We'll take any extra calories that we can get!

To say that he LOVES his golf clubs would be an understatement.

We buzzed his head before church. He looks so dang cute and I think that he looks a bit older as well. I couldn't pick just one!

Aren't my tulips pretty! I love this time of year. Happy Easter! We are so thankful for our Savior and eternal families.

This little mister has been soooo sick for over a week. It seemed that each day he would get worse and worse. He is starting to get a little bit of spunk back. I guess we were a little premature in the thinking that we were in the clear(considering it is April) and could start getting out and about more. Wrong! RSV strikes yet again. We have yet to make it a season without Dylan getting it. We had a few close calls with dehydration, but luckily for his feeding tube and Pedialyte we avoided the hospital.

He has pretty much stayed in bed for over a week. For those that know him...this is unusual! He is usually go go go. He was quite obsessed with this gold party hat. It was left over from his birthday and he pretty much wore it for 3 days straight. Whatever makes you feel better buddy!

He has lost over a pound which is a lot of weight for him. He face is skinny, but he is such a cutie! Get better soon peanut! We all need some sleep.

Preschool

Well my handsome little man started preschool on Feb. 24. Seriously is it already that time. He is getting so old! To say he is a fan would be a huge lie at this point in time, but it is getting better. He goes twice a week from 9-noon. The first several times I went and stayed with him. He told me "I sleepy" at least 30 times the first day! I just finished up training the teacher and aides on his tube feeding. Now I don't have to go in the middle of class anymore. It has been an interesting few weeks making this transition. I think he will do a lot better when I am not there. He is quite the Mama's boy and it has been hard on the both of us. I'm sure in a months time he will be super excited about school. I am hoping that he will soon actually wear his cute monkey backpack. He despises it at this point. We are loving the art projects that are starting to cover our fridge. I am looking forward to having a little time to myself for the first time in 3 years!(I finally only feel a little bit guilty saying that) I think I may just start going to the gym again. 3 cheers for that!
I love this little guy so much and am so happy with the progress that he is making. It definitely has not been an easy go for us, but there is absolutely nothing that compares to the joy that he brings into our lives. We love you Bubba!
