Cinco de Strawberry

I hit up Strawberry Reservoir for the ice-off the other day with a couple buddies. We got up there during the wee hours of the morning. Although it was over 75 degrees, there was quite a bit of ice still on the water and snow on the ground in some places due to Strawberry being high elevation lake. We fished from shore tossing everything right up to the ice line and managed to pull in several. When it got warmer we busted out the float tubes and moved to open water. The wind was howling and the water was pretty cold but it was worth it. I hooked into some pretty good Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout. I had a blast! I can't wait till Dylan is old enough to come fishing with his Daddy.

Happenings at the Davis Household

I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus, but I thought that I'd try to catch up the last few months. Dylan has been keeping us on our toes. He is now into EVERYTHING. He is crawling around and pulling himself up to everything possible. He loves to be outside, but is not too fond of the grass yet. Pretty much the only time he sits still is if I put him on the grass because in order to move he has to touch the grass! He gives big open mouth kisses...which I absolutely love. He keeps getting teeth (which is a little miserable), but he now has 7 and a few more are working their way in. He continually jabbers all day. We are waiting for his first word. I keep telling Jeff that it better be "Mom" because I have earned it, but I'm thinking that it might be "Dad". The little stinker! D also climbs the stairs and claps his hands all the time. He is at such a fun stage and we are loving watching him discover things. Jeff and I have been busy fixing sprinklers, pipes, and getting the yard going for the year. We are excited to get the garden planted in a few weeks.

Grandpa, Dylan, and Briggs



The Easter Bunny found Dylan and spoiled him rotten with toys, books, clothes, and candy. His grandparents also did their fair share of spoiling him. We had a great Easter and were able to spend lots of time with family. Holidays are so fun with kids!







Last but definitely not least....Dylan is doing a little bit of eating. He started on Feb. 21st. On average he takes 5-10% of his daily intake orally, but that is major progress! He also has learned to drink from a straw. Some days he refuses to eat so it is a bit of a rollercoaster, but I can't think of many things that make me happier than him eating. He has a extremely sensitive system so we never know how the day is going to go. If he is sick at all it sets him back. Some days he will only eat in his high chair, some days he refuses to eat if he is in his high chair, some days I have to feed him while he is rolling around and playing...Every day is different. It keeps us on our toes! The child loves sweets. We were a bit aprehensive at first but his Dr. told us that we need to feed him ANYTHING he will eat. Pretty much anything that is a positive experience is OK.

Pretty Yummy diet huh? If only I could eat that and not gain weight! He weighs 14 lbs and is 26 inches tall. We are so excited and his GI doctor is shocked that he has made this much progress in such a short time. Realistically we are looking at least one more year of his feeding tube, but possibly longer. We'll see

3 Years!

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary on March 25th. I can't believe that it has already been 3 yrs. Time flies when you are with your best friend. We look forward to all the years to come and hope this one is less eventful than last year! I love you Jeff!

Mark and Natalie's Wedding

On March 13th we celebrated Mark and Natalie's wedding. The ceremony and reception were great and we loved seeing all the family and friends. We are so happy for you Mark and Nat, congrats.

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken since D is the big 1 year old! He had just come down with the flu so he was not too smiley, but we still got some great shots. I'm just glad we got them done before he lost a whole pound to that nasty flu... which by the way all 3 of us ended up with. Yuck. Thank you so much Amy we love them!

The 2 men in my life. Adorable. Handsome. Love em'. For all those who wonder if Dylan is really mine...I'm not sure if I passed on a single gene...just look at his dad. They are twins.













Dylan's 1 year stats...12 lbs 15 oz, 26 inches tall, and BIG news...his head is the first thing to make it on the growth chart! It is in the 7th percentile! Yay. He is doing a lot of new things which I'll have to post later because he has a cold and needs to snuggle his mommy. I can't pass on snuggle time!

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Our little boy is one. On February 12 of last year Dylan came into our lives 3 months earlier then anyone expected and ever since that moment he has been the absolute center of everything we do. We love our little boy with all our hearts. We baked a little cake just for him and although he didn't do much eating he loved playing in it.



Dylan loves to play in the water so the 3 of us went to the pool on the morning of his birthday to hang out.


We had a fun party with family and Dylan racked in lots of great presents. Thanks everyone for everything. We had a jammed packed day and by the time everyone left the party Dylan was absolutely spent and feel asleep in his Mommy's arms.

Yay finally February

January was definitely not a great start to the new year. We hope February is better in our house. It started out with Jeff getting sick...which lasted for 3 weeks. It was the same old crud that everyone is getting right now with the nagging cough that hangs on forever. Week 2 rolls around and our little Dylan gets sick. Lucky us- RSV. Which by the way is annoying since we don't even leave the house! So that pretty much equalled sucking snot out of his nose constantly, never sleeping, Pedialyte, and a sleep deprived Mommy. That lasted for about 10 days. Just when I think that he is getting better and I might get a little sleep he gets another virus. Which included a really bad cough that made him constantly throw up (which he does a lot already). So another trip to the doctor. Conclusion= nothing we can do for him, It'll probably be another 7-10 days that he is sick. Wonderful right?! So 10 days later he seems to be doing better and the Teething starts. Yep top 2 teeth coming in...which Dylan is not a good teether. A few days ago one came through and we are just waiting for the next one. It should be in the next few days. So now February is here and we are one month closer to Spring and to April when we can start taking Dylan out of the house again. (We did cheat this weekend. I took him to the grocery store for a few minutes Saturday and then to a Super Bowl party yesterday. So if he gets sick it'll be only ourselves to blame!) Thankfully we have wonderful parents that each took a turn watching him last week so Jeff and I could go out alone. It was awesome! The little munchkin is still just as cute as ever and is turning 1 year old on the 12th!!! I can't believe it... What a year. Here's hoping for better health, more sleep, and better weather in February!!!!

Dylan's 1st Hair Cut

Dad gave Dylan his first hair cut on Jan 9th. After the first minute Dylan screamed the entire time! It took 3 of us. Dad cutting, Grandma Cutler holding him still, and Mom snapping pictures! He no longer has a funny comb over.

Dylan turned 11 months old yesterday. I had him at the Dr. because the poor little man is sick. He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz and is 25 1/2 inches long.

Happy 27th birthday to my hubby. I couldn't be a luckier girl to have such a wonderful husband. Here are some things that Dylan and I love about our Daddy...

~He makes me laugh every day
~He's a hard worker and supports our family so I can stay home with Dylan
~He is the best Dad and loves to play with his boy
~He and Dylan look exactly alike. I always tell Dylan that its a good thing I think his daddy is good lookin'
~He loves America's Funniest Home Videos. I can be on the other side of the house and here him cracking up
~He loves to snuggle
~He honors his priesthood and is strong in the Gospel.
~His bootie shake! This boy can DANCE
~He loves me and tells me all the time how perfect I am for him
~He is sooo good at surprising me with things
~He is sensitive...but still manly!
~He is conpetitive, loves to play games and I even win occasionally
~He loves to dress up for Halloween...who else would wear a full man tigger suit to work
~He's a good teacher
~He loves kids. You can always find him out playing with little cousins, nieces, and nephews
~He is perfect for me!!!

And the list goes on and on! I LOVE you Jeff! Happy Birthday!

The Holidays

The holidays were so fun this year but extremely busy! We've come to the conclusion that Dylan makes everything fun. He of course was spoiled rotten. It really was out of control...but I use the excuse that you only have one first Christmas right?! He really would have been satisfied with just the wrapping paper. Between Santa, Mom and Dad, and his grandparents and aunts and uncles he came out smelling like a rose. Lots of toys, clothes, and books. His favorite toys of course make lots of noise and I'm not sure where to put all of them. Have a mentioned I have the best husband in the world. He was such a trooper and waited in line with me on Black Friday at ROBERTS CRAFT (yes there was about one other man there) so I could get a Cricut for scrapbooking for Christmas.....But he surprised me with a right hand diamond ring. I love it! It complements my wedding ring beautifully. He's the best!



This is Christmas night. Dylan was so tuckered out by the end of the day. We woke up early to do Christmas at our house. Then we battled the snow storm up to the Davis' and then spent the late afternoon/evening at the Cutlers. It was a great day and we were all spoiled.

A few days before Christmas we did the annual Thanksgiving Point Night with the Cutler Fam. The kids had fun decorating cookies for Santa. The BYU bowl game was on, and then we ended the night with the Lights at Thanksgiving Point. Dylan hated the flash on the camera so every time we took a pic on the trolley he had a sad face.

We spent New Years with Jeff's friends at a cabin up in Bear Lake. The view was awesome!


All in all we had a great month. It was fun having both of our families here. Lots of hanging out, food, and games. Mark and Natalie got engaged. Brynlee was blessed. We finally got Dylan into the GI Specialist. She promised me that she would have him eating within 2 yrs. 2008 will go down in history as the hardest year of our lives so far. We were very blessed through our trials and are so grateful for Dylan to be in our family. We gladly welcome 2009!!!
